                        Phantoms Over Norway

BACKGROUND:

In the first few days of the war, the Norwegian F-16's were wiped
out by Russian MiG-29's and MiG-23's. The 45th Tactical Fighter
Wing's Phantoms, along with a limited number of Marine Reserve
Hornets and Corsairs and support aircraft, have deployed from
Stonewood, England to Andoya and Bodo. A complete Marine division
is in transit to Narvik.

ORDERS:

Protect your bases. Lose any of the three and you fail. Get the
Marines ashore at Narvik. The majority of the 'phibs must get to
Narvik for the Norwegians to hold

INTELLIGENCE:

At least three Russian bases will be focusing on you. Although it
is highly unlikely that long range standoff attacks will occur,
that possibility exists. You can expect several divisions of
Floggers and Fencers operating as short range attack aircraft. You
can choose to attack their bases, but your own standoff capability
is limited. You can adopt a purely defensive stance, but their
numerical superiority opens the door for mass raids.

The Marine task force will certainly be attacked if discovered.
Flying Phantoms as CAP over the task force is unattractive, but may
be important. Soviet ASW groups, both surface and submarine, could
think of no better target than this amphibious group.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:

Minimum - Get 3 amphibious ships to Narvik for at least 2 hrs.
Total - Get 4 amphibious ships to Narvik for at least 2 hrs.
